We still have a few more days left of October, and that means it’s still Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So many merchants and companies have stepped up to donate money to find a cure for this disease that ravages far too many families, and Hanes is one who remains committed. For the second year, Hanes is offering its Pink Collection of panties, bras, socks and tees. For 2010, Hanes has committed $250,000 to Passionately Pink for the Cure and $250,000 to the Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure Series. As spokesperson, Melina Kanakaredes has designed really nice limited edition T-shirts, which I am “modeling” (and I use that term loosely) in the photo, courtesy of Hanes. I think Melina looks much better in hers, though.
Along with the Hanes Pink Collection, Hanes has also launched their Design and Buy program where you can design your own T-shirt with your personal message of love and support, and you (and anyone else) can then purchase it. Hanes will donate 10 percent of all proceeds from this program to Komen for the Cure. When I just checked, there were more than 3,000 designs displayed on the site. Just think if each person ordered just one shirt, how much more could be donated to fight cancer!
While you’re there, check out the other great deals on Hanes wear. Right now their sweats are all 20 percent off, which prompted me to order four pairs of sweatpants at $3.99 each for my boys. (Boys #2 and #3 REFUSE to wear jeans, and of course their dresser drawers are spilling over with jeans.) Free shipping if you spend over $55, too!
And really, try designing your own t-shirt, too. It’s fun!
And to prompt some discussion, I’ll leave you with a question: What message would you put on your t-shirt?
**Disclaimer: I was given a Hanes Pink t-shirt to sample.
