How will YOU be spending Black Friday?
If you’re like me, you’ve noticed that Black Friday started a little early this year. Let’s see, I’ve seen “pre-Black Friday” sales, and “pre-pre-Black Friday sales.” Hmmm…think this has something to do with the current state of the economy and the grim outlook for retail sales this year? I wonder…
But, hey, that means that we’re in for some real deals if we just know where to look.
I still haven’t seen anything advertised yet that makes me want to crawl out of my warm bed on a frosty Friday morning at 3 a.m. to fight for a parking space while my eyes are still trying to focus and then waiting in a line of shoppers with my ski mask on because it’s 20 degrees out and then running with the crowd when the doors open so I don’t get stampeded, hurdling a woman in a wheelchair while I make a beeline for the toy aisle so Grandma Gertrude and I can play tug-of-war with the last Elmo Live doll on the shelf.
Instead, this sounds MUCH more enjoyable: waking up early in my quiet house, fixing a cup of Toffee Mocha, and sitting at my computer in my flannel sock monkey pajamas. AND still getting some deals (without having to arm-wrestle Aunt Bertha for them). Amazon is advertising amazing Black Friday deals, and they actually start TODAY. Check back often to see what’s available. Click on my linky-link, and I’ll actually get a little kick-back if you order. (Thanks–love ya!)
There are more online Black Friday deals to be had—I’ll update this post as I locate others that seem worth mentioning. So keep checking back!
What about you—are you going to brave the crowds on Black Friday? Do you know yet what you’re going to shop for? Heard of some great deals? Leave a comment and let us know!

Ooh, here’s another goodie! Find super-cool gift ideas at the Discovery Store, and right now save up to 50% during their Thanksgiving Sale! I found this and this and this that I am going to order for certain someones in my family. They also have a collection of 50 Toys under $15! Gotta love that! And if that’s not enough–enter your email address and receive a coupon code for $5 off your next order of $25 or more! Whoo-hoo!
I'm going to be in my bed, nice & cozy warm, at 3am on Friday morning. I will not go near ANY store that day, if I can help it! Nope, no way, no how.
Amazon sounds great. Will have to check them out.
Walmart actually looked like they had some pretty decent deals. They had movies for $2 and cute little vacuums for $9.
I really want to go to Rockin’ Shoppin’ Eve @ 12:01 am but somehow I don’t think that is going to happen.
Melody, you really WANT to go to Jordan Creek? Yikes, too crowded for me. I’ll have to check out the Walmart ad…I suppose we could BOTH go to Rockin Shoppin Eve TOGETHER and then use it as something to BLOG about…Hmm…
I’ve never done the Black Friday thing, but every year I say I’m going to experience it just one time…the whole bit, 4 am, cold, no parking spaces. But I never can roll my butt outta bed!
Okay, yeah, now that I see Wal-Mart’s black friday ad, I see that there are a few things I would CONSIDER waiting in line for. MAYBE… Right now, though, I’m home with a sick kid. Not sure how this whole Thanksgiving Day weekend thing is going to play out!
